Bungoma, Kenya, Africa to Little Rock, Arkansas, U.S.--
One may think it's a long distance apart, but it's really not.
We jump on the internet and check our email and look at websites, maybe even see where the best prices are for various items that we want to purchase. The internet has many uses and just like other technologies, the way it is used determines whether it is good or bad. In this case it is more evidence that our God is alive and is still using everything in existence to bring Him glory. In April of 2008 I received an email from someone in Bungoma Kenya asking about our church. I replied as it is not unusual to get emails through the website from various places but this one was different. In a few days came another email with more questions. And then another and then another and then another. Before long it became obvious that God was working in this situation and that He had placed two kindred spirits in contact with one another. The story only gets better........
Allow me to introduce you to my brother in Christ, Leonard Wanjala Wamalwa and his beautiful family. His wife, Celestine and his children beginning with Allan followed by Ellah and then Gloria. Since this picture was taken there has been another addition to this great family. In May of 2009 they were blessed with Rejoyce Kibali as she entered the world as the fourth blessing to this couple.
Brother Leonard works in his local church teaching as well as many other duties under Bishop Frederick Ogara. Leonard has started a fellowship in Musakasa which is a nearby village that he was raised in before moving to Bungoma. This fellowship is growing as Leonard is serving God's people and teaching the Lord's principles to them. Please pray for Leonard as he seeks God's will in all his evdeavors. I can tell you from getting to know this man that he has a heart to serve the Lord Jesus like not many people do. He can truly say that his life is all about serving the Lord and His people. His wonderful wife that serves by his side supports him as a Godly wife should and she is an example through her life with her children and her walk with the Lord.
The churches under Bishop Ogara also have an orphanage that they oversee. The Siritanyi Children's Home (www.siritanyich/multiply.com) has 23 children that call it home and are being nurtured in the Lord by the gracious workers at the home. We are proud to support the children at the home with funds as we can and with prayer every day. Please pray for the needs of the children and the workers at the Siritanyi Children's Home. |
